The Martha Haakmat Library
Named in honor of our former Head of School (2013-2019), the Martha Haakmat Library recognizes Martha’s transformative work in program excellence during her tenure. At the heart of BHMS, the Martha Haakmat Library has an impact on all the children in our community, from the Twos through Eighth Grade, and also supports our exceptional faculty and staff.
The Library is centrally located on the first floor of the school and it is a space for all members of the community to gather, read, work, learn, and share! All BHMS students and families have access to our collection and borrowing privileges. Throughout the school day, the library is primarily a student-space for learning. Students use the library with classes, small groups, and independently.
Comprised of print and digital materials for Preschool through Middle School, the library’s collection supports the curriculum and classwork, feeds curiosity, and nurtures a love of literature across all subject areas. There is also a Professional Development and Parenting collection for adults in the community.
